Change Daily
We, at C.Bali understand it can be so confusing, and what you read one day, changes the next day.
That is why we keep this page up to date with all the latest immigration and Bali Government entry requirements for you.
Last update 3 October 2024
If you want to know more about the above four requirements and other tips, scroll down for more

Check your passport
You must have at least 6 months until your passport expiry date at the time you want to ENTER Indonesia.
Make sure there are no tears, water damage, or pen marks on important data.
The new passports have plastic data pages, but unfortunately the seams are not strong. If you do have any damage, you may be denied boarding.
But what is damage?
1. Tears in any page, not stitching coming apart, but an actual tear. You cannot have any missing pages, and if a page is falling off you cannot use the passport
2. Watermarks, watermarks that have caused discoloration or paper to buckle.3. Pen marks, or any marks that are over data or your photo.
4. Stains, no coffee stains etc
5. Severe creases to the data page or cover

Every Foreigner Requires a Visa
Even Babies require a visa.
Visa on Arrival (VOA) allows a 30-day stay in Bali and can be used to visit all over Indonesia,
The VOA is available for citizens of 97 countries (see drop down below for countries list) .
The cost is 500,000 IDR when paid directly to immigration.
You can currently still purchase the VOA at the airport when you arrive.
Make sure you have an email address for them to use (and you can access), so you can use the smart gates after paying for your visa (for over 6 years old).
Immigration VOA desk officers will have you fill your details in on a tablet.
If you have children, there is a fast lane for children and elderly.
For 30 visa day online, this is still the easiest way to obtain your visa
https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/application_bvk.
You just need your passport, your phone and a credit card. However, we do not suggest using this currently if you wish to renew for 30 days, as the system is glitching for renewals (we will keep this updated, so check back to this page if you plan to stay longer than 30 days)
TIP: Its an instant system, so you can do it after you check in at the airport, while waiting to board your flight (if the airport WIFI is good)
HELP: If you do your visa, paid, and now you cant find it. Here is how to find your visa https://www.c-bali.com/tourist-visas/how-to-find-your-e-voa

Return Ticket
it is an immigration requirement for all tourists to have a ticket out of Indonesia. It does not need to be return to your home country.
If you apply for the e-VOA online with the new link above, you do not need your ticket for the visa.
However, you will need your ticket out of Indonesia to check into your flight
The exit date on your ticket should be before your visa expires or your airline may not let you board the plane. Some airlines insist on this, even if you do plan to renew your 30 day visa (they have a right to insist under Immigration law)

Customs Declaration
You must fill in your customs declaration before going through the customs line.
It is no longer available in paper form.
It's all online now and can be done within 72 hours before departure.
This is free and you should not be paying anyone to do a declaration on your behalf (you may do your whole family on one declaration)
TIP: Its an instant system, so you can do it after you check in at the airport, while waiting to board your flight (if the airport WIFI is good)
You can still do it at the airport upon arrival in Bali, but prepare for a long wait. as it must be done on a computer at the airport.
An instructional video is below and our blog on bringing in medications
TIMING: Can be done 2 day before your entry, the system will not allow you to do any earlier
TIP: Turn of your VPN to use.

Bali Tourism Levy
If you are entering Bali it is mandatory to pay the 150,000 IDR tourism levy.
This requirement is only to enter Bali, not Lombok for example.
It can be done online before you come
https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id/
Or at the airport. The airport desk is located at arrivals, out where the drivers wait to collect their guests. (Note: some airlines insist it is done before they will issue a boarding pass)
TIMING: can be done any time, but you need flight details.. It will last 60 days after the flight entry date you use when paying.

Health Declaration
There is now a SSHP Health Declaration to fill in online before entering Indonesia - this is a recent requirement to avoid the spread of Monkeypox to Indonesia. Its not personal information, its to declare if you have been in Africa, around monkeys etc. And, for your safety, if there is a breakout, they will track the people sitting next to the person(s) infected
Its quick to fill in, so can be done after you check in using the airport WIFI.
TIMING: Can be done no more than 2 days before your entry (if you already have your seat number)

Guides Below

Use your phone

No need to have an account or remember your password
Make sure you use the new link on the Official Indonesian Immigration Website for your 30 day e-VOA
the website is https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/application_bvk (or formally https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id, https://molina.imigrasi.go.id/)
Note: if you use the old url of just https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id you will need to upload pdfs of your ticket and passport, so use the new url, ending with 'application_bvk' then you only need to scan your passport on your phone.
The above new link is only for the 30 day visa (VOA) available to 97 countries
If you wish to extend this visa, at the moment we do not suggest obtaining the 30 day visa using new link, use the old evisa link, as the system is going through changes.
We will update here once the immigration system is working correctly for extensions of the 30 day visa.
