Canoe Rental - Not Guided
Price
Our low prices are based on you renting our equipment and carrying your own canoes and equipment to the Lake.
The price is for the renters only and the canoes cannot be shared amongst other people. ie; you cannot use it for 30 minutes, then your friends take it out for 30 minutes.
Returning Early
If you return early, please only get out of the canoe in at least 30 cm of water.
Please send one person to our office to notify our staff. Our staff will come down and empty out any water and assist you to put on your heads.
There is no discount or refund for returning early.
Returning Late
If you return early, please only get out of the canoe in at least 30 cm of water.
Please send one person to our office to notify our staff. Our staff will come down and empty out any water and assist you to put your canoe on your heads. (They cannot be carried with water in them, this will add to the weight and risk damaging the canoe)
There is no discount or refund for returning early.
Set Lake Times
We have set times that we are allowed on the Lake, we must adhere to these times.
We cannot be on the Lake on religious days.
We cannot be on the Lake when it is dark.
Lake Batur is an important body of Water to all of the Balinese people and should be treated as one of Bali Religious destinations, as such there are times of the year and some times of the day due to religious ceremonies that that no boating/canoes can be on the Lake, we must adhere to these dates/times
No Commercial Use
Foreigners are not allowed to act as Guides to other tourists in the canoes (Immigration Laws).
Our canoes are for tourism purposes only and not to be used for any financial gain by another person/group.
No third party may pass themselves off as the owner, guide or renter of our canoes.
Any commercial photo shoots using our canoes must be approved in writing by the Harbour police and a shooting fee will payable to the Dinas Perhubungan Danu Batur. C.Bali are not responsibile for arranging this, all permissions must be obtained by the renter in advance and shown to C.Bali staff before renting.
Canoeing Safety
The canoes cannot tip over, unless you stand up in them.
Please wear the life jacket provided at all times - you will be fined by the harbour police if you do not (and we could lose our license)
Please do not worry if you drop your paddle in the water, they float.
If the winds pick up in the direction away from the launching point, please allow time to return.
If you have never kayaked or canoed before, allow 5-10 minutes beforehand for our staff to train you
Medium fitness level is required for this activity
Children
Please supervise your children at all times
Please do not let your children sit on/in the canoes when they are not in the water
Please do not let your children stand up the canoes when out on the Lake
Please do not let your children walk on the farms next to the path to the Lake
Please ensure children do not pick any of the crops in the farms.
• Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult
• Children under 4 years are not permitted (unless they can remain seated at all times)
Government Regulations
You must wear a lifejacket at all times.
You must provide photo ID to the C.Bali Staff to copy.
You cannot dock the canoes or use the Kedisan harbour for the canoes
You cannot cross in front of any motorised boats
You cannot dock/park/get out of your canoe on any land around the Lake, apart from the C.Bali canoe launching bay.
Do not get closer than 5 metres to any floating bamboo fish farms
Do not get closer than 10 metres to the Temple.
Carry (canoe Handling)
Carrying your canoes - they are very light. They are carried on your head (requires 2 people). This is the safest way to carry them, it avoids any damage to the canoes but it also means both people can see where they are walking.
Our staff will assist putting the canoes your heads and also taking them off your heads.
If you want our staff to carry your canoe for you, it is best to book ahead as we may not have the staff available and may need to close our office.
Please tip the staff direct for their hard work.
