The Bukit

The Bukit

You could really say that surfers discovered this area. It's dry landscape and sandstone cliffs make some beaches adventure hideaways. The Bukit means 'Hill' and many of the amazing beaches in this area involve a jungle trek and some stairs. However, don't be discouraged there are some beaches set up for tourists, where they have carved an access road out of the cliffs, a few exclusive beach bars even have lifts to take you down to their groovy bars.

How to get there?

The Bukit is not that far from the airport, however as many places are spread along the Coast, or even inland such as the village of Ungasan, which has supermarkets and many facilities, if you are visiting for the day it's best to book a driver. If you want to stay in the area, arrange transport with your accomodation.
The famous GWK (Cultural Park) is on the way up the hill so maybe a stop here on the way to the beach.
